Pau Rojas

I met Pau Rojas on my first trip to Buenos Aires. She's one of the best-known girls there — a really good girl.

Pau Rojas is an Argentine adult content creator and self-producer from Paso del Rey, in the Moreno district of Buenos Aires Province. She was born on 20 February 1998. Her story was first told in detail by Infobae in August 2022, in a feature by Gisele Sousa Dias.

Early life. Rojas became a mother at 15. She told Infobae: "I finished school on a Friday and my son was born on Saturday, literally." She went back to school after her leave and finished secondary school with the best grades in her class. She then studied to become a pharmacy assistant and took English classes, but as a single mother she had to give up her studies to work. She handed out flyers on the street, worked as a promoter and, from 19, joined the crew of a fast-food chain in Caseros. She worked her way up from the kitchen. She described leaving home at 5 a.m. and hardly seeing her son. When she left the job she was earning 13,000 pesos a month, half of which went on rent.

Career. In January 2020 an acquaintance suggested she sell lingerie photos to her Instagram followers. In her first week she sold six photos and, she said, earned as much as two months at the burger restaurant. For a while she did both jobs. When the pandemic put her restaurant job at risk, the creator Jesy Fux showed her how subscription platforms worked, and Rojas moved from erotic photos to explicit videos. Sometimes she filmed alone, sometimes in group scenes with other people from the industry. Three months later she could pay for breast implants and then a car, two things she had thought "impossible".

From the start she chose not to work for the big studios. Instead she creates, produces, stars in, edits and publishes her own short films, with a small team: a videographer, an editor, someone who adds English subtitles, and a community manager. She has also learned to do every part of the job herself. By mid-2022 she had almost 300,000 followers across her Instagram and X accounts, and she said her income now supported her son and her mother. She later appeared on the ELO Podcast, a Spanish-language interview show about the adult industry.

Personal life. Rojas told Infobae that she had seriously considered quitting because of the stigma of being a mother in the industry, and that she talked it through in therapy. She changed her mind after a day out with her son, when he told her he was having a great time; before, they could not afford outings like that. She says she has told him she is a model and actress, and that her job now is "to raise him with a strong mindset". She works while he is at school and takes days off for doctor's appointments and school events. "I have no bosses; if I don't want to, I don't make myself," she said.
